Learn From Common Scaling Failures

Over the last few blog posts, we’ve focused a lot on scaling content. We’ve gone through all our best tips and tricks to help you grow your business and increase sales. But now you must be wondering — okay, I know what I should do, but what kind of mistakes/failures can I avoid during my scaling journey as a slow fashion founder? Don’t worry, because we’ll be covering all the common scaling failures in this blog post!

To make this easy for you to digest, we’ve summarized everything into two types of foundations that we often find slow fashion founders don’t have finalized, which leads to their difficulties in trying to scale.

To make this easy for you to digest, we’ve summarized everything into two types of foundations that we often find slow fashion founders don’t have finalized, which leads to their difficulties in trying to scale.

1. Having An Idea Of Where You’re Trying To Go, But Have No Idea How To Get There

This can lead to slow fashion founders doing things aimlessly every day because they’re not sure how daily tasks help ladder back up to the main goal at hand. Being unclear and unintentional with your tasks will cause stress and anxiety if you’re trying to reach your goals and this is bad because you aren’t able to achieve the momentum you need to scale. To avoid/fix this, you have to build a plan based on proven strategies. If you feel that you’re lacking this, we have a free sales workshop coming up where we will help support you through it!

2. Not Being Close To Your Customers

If you aren’t connected with your customers, you will have no idea why people aren’t buying your products, or why certain items sell better than others. You need to be close with your customers so that you know exactly what kind of products you should make and sell that you know they’ll love. Don’t waste your valuable dollars producing things that won’t sell — make sure you listen to your customers and figure out what your target audience wants.

3. Not Collecting Or Looking At Data

We know you’ve probably heard us say this a bunch of times in the last few blog posts, but you need to be collecting data and analyzing it. We’ve said this before, but your data will tell you a story. This information can reveal so many things you didn’t know about your business and can help you pinpoint things that are and aren’t working for you. Make time to look at the data at least once a month, if not more.

4. Not Efficiently Spending The Budget

Are you spending your valuable dollars in the right places? If you don’t have a healthy money mindset and aren’t already analyzing your financials, you need to start now. Know exactly how you’re spending your dollars and invest it in the right items.

1. Entrepreneurs Who Aren’t Set Up For Success

To be able to scale your brand successfully, you as the founder need to be set up for success too. We often see that slow fashion founders are stressed out, anxious, overwhelmed and constantly putting out fires. We understand that when you first start you are trying to juggle a million things by yourself, but you need to take care of yourself to be functioning properly. For lack of a better way to say it, you can’t expect to grow your business when you’re running around with your head cut off. Make time for your physical and mental health as well as your mindset to become the best entrepreneur you can be!

2. Not Working On Your Mindset

You need to nurture your mindset and stay positive even through difficult times. We know that being a founder is not easy and we encourage you to work on things such as your limiting beliefs and money mindset. To scale and get to the next level, you can’t be scared of investing in programs to help you, bringing on team members, paid advertising, etc. Do whatever works best for you to build that positive mindset you need to scale. You can try things like journaling, meditating, positive affirmations, etc.

We hope this was helpful because it can all be intimidating at first, we know that you can do it and we are always cheering you on here at Recloseted. Check out our Business Consulting services and our DM’s are always open so feel free to message us with any questions or support!
